APA Presidential Candidates

Dear NLPA familia, in addition to NLPA many of us are members of the American Psychological Association. These memberships overlap because of our professional identities and commitments. Indeed, NLPA along with the other ethnic minority associations, has been seeking a seat on the APA Council for years in an effort to have official representation within APA governance. We are one profession, serving in multiple roles, across many specialty areas, and we are serving an ethnic and culturally diverse population. In an effort to support our NLPA familia’s efforts to make an informed decision regarding voting for the next APA president, we have asked the APA presidential candidates to submit a statement addressing issues of high relevance to our NLPA familia. If you would like to review them, below are the questions we sent each candidate for their consideration and comment. Each candidate chose to respond in the way that best fit  their communications style. I am delighted to report that all five candidates submitted statements, confirming the importance of NLPA and its members as a community of professionals of relevance to APA. I hope you take a few minutes to review these statements before voting.

Warmly, Melanie M. Domenech Rodríguez
