Description: This presentation examines the impact of artificial intelligence and digital mental health technologies on LatinX communities, with particular attention to how clients access, interpret, and rely on AI-generated mental health information. Designed for psychologists and mental health professionals, the session explores culturally and linguistically specific factors such as language access, immigration-related stressors, digital inequities, family-centered decision making, and mistrust of formal systems that shape help seeking and symptom understanding. Participants will build culturally responsive digital literacy skills to critically evaluate AI-informed mental health content, identify risks related to misinformation and bias, and ethically integrate client-introduced digital information into assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Emphasis is placed on culturally grounded practice, clinical judgment, and strengthening the therapeutic relationship in an increasingly AI-mediated context.
