Advocacy in a Rapidly Changing Political Environment

During this half-day CE workshop, participants will learn valuable advocacy skills and how best
to engage on immigration policy and other issues important to the Latinx community. This
interactive workshop will include 3, 1-hour sessions. The first session will focus on the state of
play of the federal government, with a special focus on the Latinx community and immigration
policy; the second session will focus on how participants can become involved in federal, state,
and local advocacy as a psychologist and as a member of the American Psychological
Association; and finally, the third session will focus on the role of trauma in advocacy, and how
to infuse psychological science into advocacy.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the current political landscape.
2. Develop skills to actively advocate in federal, state and local politics.
3. Identify the role of trauma in current immigration policy and the Latinx community.

Conducting Immigration Evaluations: An In-Depth Training for Psychologists

This full-day CE workshop is designed to train licensed psychologists and psychology trainees in
conducting high-quality forensic evaluations for immigration proceedings. With increasing
demand for psychological expertise in immigration law, this training provides essential legal
context, clinical strategies, and ethical guidance.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Distinguish between clinical and forensic roles when conducting immigration evaluations.
2. Describe the psychological and legal components of common immigration
relief categories.
3. Apply ethical and culturally informed practices in immigration report writing and
evaluation.
