Welcome NLPA’s new Membership Chair, Alexina Pilo!
Alexina is a 4th year PhD student in the Counseling Psychology program at the University of Georgia (UGA). Alexina is a first-generation, Brazilian-American, raised in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She received her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College with a certificate in Human Rights and International Justice.
Her research interests include Latinx college student academic adjustment, psychological well-being, culturally sensitive educational praxis, mentorship practices and healing and perseverance following traumatic loss. Alexina’s clinical interests include bicultural counseling, trauma, grief, and loss. Alexina recently completed a doctoral student fellowship with the UGA Future Faculty Fellows program and currently serves on the NLPA social media committee.
